Joe Wright (Atonement) directs a sumptuous production of Tolstoy’s magnificent novel, adapted for the screen by Tom Stoppard. Set in 19th century Russia, it recounts the tragedy of a fashionable woman who gives everything up for a passionate liaison, abandoning husband, son and social position.
Keira Knightley stars as Anna, Jude Law is Alexei Karenin, and Aaron Johnson (Nowhere Boy) is Count Vronsky.
