Running an Arts and Community Centre like ours costs a lot of money. Like all Arts Centres our outgoings exceed our Box Office income, and we must generate income in other areas to break even. However we think that having our own entertainments and community centre in Ludlow is priceless. If you agree and would like to support us, here are some of the ways you can help:
Volunteers
It is true to say that without our small army of volunteers we could not open our doors. Volunteers contribute to the Assembly Rooms in countless ways - for example stewarding at live events and films, helping out in our busy office, or supporting the staff in Box Office

In addition The Friends organise a range of events which are just for fun - great for socialising and getting to know new people.
Last year, thanks to income generated by the Friends, we were able to buy a much-needed cinema scope lens (with support from local businesses), and a mobile infra-red system for people with hearing difficulties (with support from the Access Group). We were also able to paint the building throughout and sort out the windows in the Studio.
The Friends’ Fundraising committee is very active and organises hugely popular events such as the Secret Gardens of Ludlow, Challenge Walk and Grand Auction, raising a massive £20,000 + a year. Business and Partnership Friends will have their names printed in each brochure and, along with Silver Friends, will receive an invitation to join the Director in an annual evening to discuss future programming ideas, as well as receive the same benefits as Bronze Friends. Friends in the Gold, Platinum, Benefactor and Life Benefactor categories will receive additional benefits, which will be negotiated on an individual basis.

We run a lottery in assoiation with Severn Hospice. Sponsor a chair
Our beautiful new chairs have now been installed and look wonderful, and more importantly, are vastly more comfortable than the old chairs. Thanks to all our generous sponsors they are all now paid for.
There are always projects for which we want to raise funds, and top of the list now is new carpeting for the Auditorium (the new chairs have made the old carpet look very sad).
One excellent way to contribute to our fundraising effort is by sponsoring a chair. We still have nearly 100 chairs awaiting a sponsor, so it’s definitely not too late.
For £100 your name will be inscribed onto a plaque and attached to a chair, as a permanent reminder of your generosity. You can also dedicate a seat to a friend or family member.
